Ive been given a cd player ( goodmans ) and ive taken out the casette player from my car, i need help with what wires go to which..

red is live
black is switched live, rep to rysee (steal it from the fag lighter
brown is earth (one may need taking from the chassis)
the rest that are matching pair (green green with another colour) are to speakers

yellow (brown/yellow) are to the front right
green are to rear left
white i think is rear right
i assume the last (blue?)is front left

someone said they were the things for the wires,
on the back of my cd player it says what the cables are for the cd player.

Red - Ignition Switch
Black - Ground (B-)
Orange - Memory Permanent
Orange/White - Audio Aerial
Grey - Front Left Speaker (+)
Grey/Black - Front Left Speaker (-)
White - Front Right Speaker (+)
White/Black - Front Right Speaker (-)
Brown - Rear Left Speaker (+)
Brown/Black - Rear Left Speaker (-)
Yellow - Rear Right Speaker (+)
Yellow/Black - Rear Right Speaker (-)

Any help on what cables to connect to which?
will be hugely appreciated :)

yer was me that the quotes from

red is live (to Orange - Memory Permanent)
black is switched live (to Red - Ignition Switch)
brown is earth (to Black - Ground (B-))

as for speakers, i can't remember what the colours go to, can only assume its what i've written above, speakers will work both ways, upto you if you want to find out which is positve/negative

Orange/White - Audio Aerial would go to an amp if you have one

^^ that wouldn't work for an amp , would only come on when you had radio on ,

will be seperate wire for the amp remote

Haven't you answered your own question there?

I'd just run fresh wiring.

[edit] most HUs will put aerial up even with the CD player on, but not all. D'oh.

Whats the model number? Maybe see if there's an online manual on the Goodmans website

i have a space for a fag lighter but there aint actually one there...
i have the ignition switch already tho so i dont need the cable from that.

Just been doing mine, put the red (perminant live/battery) to the yellow on the radio.. That will do it:)

O forgot to mention, if there is no memory between start ups (turning the ignition on and off) switch the red and yellow wires over. :thumb:
