I ask because the old couple may be inheriting a 2 year old African Grey from a relative.
If we do get it, it will be living in an extended part of the house which is slightly colder that elsewhere indoors, most noticeably without the heating on and in winter obviously.

What sort of temperatures are they comfortable at?

I am reading up now, but always good to hear from other bird owners. :thumb:

*Awaits many bird/pirate jokes. lol

I would imagine if its from Africa, it will struggle to survive in the cold. Africa = HOT, UK = ****ing freezing.

Nah not yet Berghaus, there isn't room for it to reside where was initially intended. The owner shall be asked, but the internet knows all! lol

you may need to cater for it when it gets colder, I.e bring it in to a warmer room. This is the same for most young parrots. be wary, its in its teens and as human teenagers are they like to test your patience :)(which could hurt!)

but keeping it in a cold room may cause a few problems like a respiratory infection (wheezing/sniffles) so maybe if you do take on the parrot re think the room you will keep it in (and yes they are noisy)

google some care sheets. Or sign up to www.reptileforums.co.uk (yeah i know reptiles...but theres an exotic section) just be wary of some people on there...as quite frankly you can try to be like them, alas you wont be able to get your head so far up your ****! (thats putting it nicely) how ever very helpful in regards to info on such squawkers
