So what was likely to cause it to become out in the first place? Its a 1.0L! Also the guy said the timings might need replacing... why would this be, how much would it cost and is he ripping me off? Respect, Joe

1.0l have contact breaker points

yes these may need replacing if they are wearing away.

inside you dizzy there is a cam kind of thing that makes the "points" open and close.
