Mk1 Casette Player

well i got my nova today and also a cd player, i cant seem to get the casette player out :( its literally impossible lol it may just be me being idiotic, but any helping thoughts?

have you taken the 4 allen key bolts out ? once done you will need the head unit removal tools from haulfords.

Dismantle it from the front back...

failing that get some radio removal pins from Halfrauds.

I did mine at the weekend. As Craig says, dismantle the front panel, I grabbed the bit where you put the tape and ripped it off. I couldn't be bothered to go to halfords, so I just put four nails in each hole and either pushed them towards the middle of the car or to the outside of the car. I can't remember which but it did the trick. With the front panel removed you can see the mechanism to release it from the cage.

I cut up a wire coat hanger and shoved it down the side where the 4 bolts are. pushing them out the way in the process and used the design of the hanger as a pincher. Came out in the end.
