im with direct line for the 1.2, cant remember what company the gsi was with, only reason i didnt get a gsi was because i couldnt find one close enough at the time and the 1.2 came up on my door step

Bite the bullet or get a different car TBH.I agree with tom(its that simple)you can shop around a few different insurance company's, but you will still be paying around the £2k mark!thats until you turn 29 and it costs £380 fully comp:d :p
its nice to have a car like you have but in reality if just aint gonna work unless money isnt a issue!
so i say sell it on(pics to twistom@hotmail.com:d )
and buy a decent little runaround for the next couple of year's:thumb:

Novalad earns himself green lol
If insurance is an issue, simply buy a more insurance-friendly car. I really don't get why kids these days buy cars that are expensive to insure then wimble about it - pretty much everyone I know bought a cheap shed as their first car (except those who had a free loan from the bank of mummy and daddy lol)
If you wait and earn the car you desire it will mean more to you. Heck, I first wanted a GT4 when I was 20 but did I go buy one? No lol

citreon 2cv FTW
i wrote my 1st car off, who cares it was a 1.2 clio, money down the drain to me, if i wrote off my 1st car and it was something special i would be gutted spend a year in a 1.2 then move up

And at 17, you couldnt drive a soapy stick into a hamsters bottom!
Let alon 110bhp nova gsi, and tbh, if you turn around and say you can, you clearly drive like a tart!
All the nw lads will tell you, everytime I turn upto a meet, ive been in hedges, village greens, smashed bumpers off etc! However Ive never crashed! Just slid onto a green, and jumped down some lane!
I have a 45bhp 1 litre, and am building a 2l 16v nova gte, but this will take at least 2 years to complete!
Theres no point getting anything fast, because no one really cares if you die, its if you kill someone else, or kill the nova!

Redtop, why bother? May aswell LET it and stick it on L plates. Although you'll probobly be bored with the power by the time you pass.

i was 18 and learning to drive, cost of the car, cost of the insurance lol

LMFAO that is now my phrase of the day. I shall attempt to wrangle "soapy stick into a hamster's bottom" into at least one conversation lol

In response to the thread starter.
Patince is (a virtue &)something youngsters are without.
Clearly you need to wait until you are old enough. (or rob a bank)

Im 17, and happy with 45bhp?
I drive hard, like stupid hard at times, however, "Power is nothing without control"
All in all, buy a 1.2, stick a 1600 cam and carrier in it, advance the timing, wire in some resistors onto the fuel rail, and you will see about 60bhp!
Thats more than enough!

Whatever.
Fact of the matter is, he can't afford the insurance.
Just like when I could only drive a 1.2L for my 1st 2 years. Just aswell really. I didnt crash it but learnt many a hard lesson in it. GSi was my 2nd car at 20 years old. I still have it now 10 years on.

I thought you were taking the piss, I should have known better!
I thought I was really cool having a mk2 1.4SR for my first car, I should of known better because I crashed it a month later. Then my insurence prices were sky high and i had to scrap my SR which was in decent nick.
