Cast your mind back, if you will, to the long hot summer of 1988. A summer marked by blazing sunshine, cracked mud at the bottom of long dried-up puddles and my dogged attempts to learn to ride a bike. Most significantly, August 1988 was when my parents decided they needed a second car. Having test driven six late 1980s superminis, they were driving in the family Granada to hand over £5,000 our local Vauxhall dealership. For this enormous sum of money, we received a small white addition to our drive; our F-reg Vauxhall Nova!

This car has been owned by my parents since August 1988 and has given 21 years of utterly faithful service. Both me and my brother learned to drive in the Nova and it has travelled to the furthest corners of the UK (Cornwall, Anglesey, Fort William, Brighton, etc).

Times change, however. My parents no longer need two cars and they want to keep their other car (a Passat). The Nova is thus surplus to requirements and needs to go. At the same time, it would be a shame to simply ditch a car that is ultimately 100% original, reliable and cheap. Hence I am offering it via the PNG so hopefully it will be bought by someone who likes Novas!

Here are the vital statistics:
3 door
White
115,000 miles
Rear wheelarches replaced in 2006
1.0 carb, 4-speed transmission
Driver's seat replaced earlier this yearGOOD BITS:
Completely Full Service History
Not much rust. Sills, engine bay, underbody, suspension, spare wheel well, rear arches etc. are pretty much all rust-free.
Has never broken down!
It's a 3-door
Tiny engine is very economical and is nippy round town with only 1-2 people.
MOT is due, but it should pass fine. If the lucky buyer sends me £40 I'l get this done.BAD BITS:
Rust spots on front valance, bottom of doors and around tailgate opening.
Funny noise from front nearside wheel when driven over 40 mph. Possibly a worn bearing?
Tiny engine is a bit strained on the motorway or when fully loaded.PRICE: £250, or make me an offer.

I have a bunch of pictures but the forum won't let me post the link. PM me for the link! Any other questions, PM me or post here!

Yeah, the rear arches were re-done in 2006.
