Theres alsorts you can do to it, look in the articles section for 8v tuning, carbs/bike or 40s, cams headwork, depends how far you wanna go, whats with the negativity AW?

Its just that lot is a lot of work for not a lot of gain tbh, at the end of the day you could find and fit a 1.6 and have more power for the same cost as carbs etc

Not really, as youd need to change the tank add lines if not there, fuel pump and such, there is always a cheap way of doing either tbh!

True, but for a complete setup its not much over £200ish, if i have any memory left that is. twin 40s, cam, setting up etc is more hassle than its worth, if you was doing it to keep the tax cost down, and the insurance cost i can understand, i mean, you wouldnt want to fit a 1.4 16v!

He has the same engine as me tbh (SR lump) and im hoping to get mine on bike carbs, decent cam, get a local machine place to lighten my flywheel for me and as and when i come to sell it should break for a the same money as went into it, so theres always ways of funding other upgrades in future if ya gets me:thumb:

Yer, and i guess if you plan fitting a 1.6 8v or w.e you can use the items from the 1.4.

Meh im just lazy.

May be worth playing about with, obviously depends what money you have to spend but im sure you could get some gains out of it by trying different bits and pieces
