the autovaux website is crap, EVERYONE knows that!!!! use this magical thing called a phone and call them for what you want :) iirc club members also get a discount :)
for "uprated parts" forget paying SBD/QED tax and contact phillip2 on here/mig or steveboyslim on mig

LOL... what is this magical thing you speak of ? I often hear a stange ringing from time to time by the the time i find where it comes from..... it stops !! lol
Cheers Stuart
I'll drop phillip2 a Pm once I know for sure what the problem is
why does everybody actually think that all these tuning places sell all these amazing uprated , modified engine parts????
ok, cams may have new profiles but they are made using aftermarket blanks...
valves are usually just something that they have found in the big master parts book, guides & seats are cut down std ones..
shell bearings are shell bearings, 2 blokes in a shed somewhere are not actually going to be able to make shells from scratch, or have the demand for a bearing company to make them some specials.......
I know that if you are prepared to spend huge, then people like arrow will make one offs, but most of this aftermarket tuning stuff is not that special.

indeedy.
most aftermarket stuff is either a copied and then modded std part, or sheer guesswork.
as for big end bearings.... aslong as they have whitemetal in them then they are good enough imho, as its a non contact part I'd hope to never need heavy duty BS ones lol
I typed out a reply along these lines last night, before my intermegahyperglobalnet failed.
" If you're Wanting uprated bottom end parts - Go to your nearest engine/machine shop and get them to price you bottom end work (hone, Bore, L&B e.t.c) with parts to suit your application. "
i can price up/spec a stock motor to a all steel motor.
all depends on your budgetlol
shell bearings arent just shell bearings, others use a better quality or material than others, harder/longer wearing.
cams you could have ground from blanks to whatever you want.(infinate number of profiles more than likely
paul ivey(rec) makes probably 99% of valves anyway(1piece jobbies) and specialist jobbies(cant think what one of the turbo valves are made from but im sure there about £60 each!)
autovaux and other cheaper companies will spends thousands and thousands on one product just to get cheap prices.
qed/sbd valves all come from paul ivey too

sodium filled ;)
shell bearings shouldnt "need" to be hard wearing persay as they arent a contact part (when moving :p )
stuart - not sodium, its another material, seem to be only used for the cosworths i think, when i spoke to paul ivey about having some valves made. ill have to try and find out whats in them.
there not, but do seem to wear lol, probably more to do with up down force of crank, but i know what you mean.:d
