View Full Version : FAO ppl with engine change, DVLA info...
sending off my logbook with new info bout engine change, got the engine size and engine number, and recipet from place that did it, when i send it away will dvla send me a new form for difference road tax, as it's 1.6 and will be a bit more then the 1.2.
Any other info would be great.
yeah cause its in a different category bigger engine more tax
?30 thats wot i gota pay
iv only got 2 months tax left, so im gona ring em!
?30 for what?
my tax runs out end of this month, then got MOT following month, im sh!tting it, i knwo it wont pass and ive no money to fix it, im well fooked!
?30 will prob be the difference left Locky had to pay on the tax disc going to bigger engine. If you had a 1.2 at start of 6 months then changed to 1.6 for example, theyd charge you the diff for the remainder of the period.
Up to 1.4 and its ?55 x 6 mnths - over that and its about ?90 I think, so my 1.4's ok!
:D
Wot you reckon yer gonna fail on?

cant be as bad as driving for three MONTHS before evn realising it had ran out!!!!!!!!
more like what wont if fail on...
well it seems to be drinking fuel, think petrol tank has a hole in it, gasket needs changing, i can do that b4 then, fumes from exhaust, things to do with the new engine...
not sure tho...
finger crossed. hows ur car now ade?
sweet m8 sweet - running lovely (touch wood).
Just got a new polished rocker cover for it (will post pics at weekend) and hopefully will have new weber carb by end of month/April.
Power is much better - top end acceleration is ace and I've just got meself a digi dash!
:D
If you think your leaking fuel just leave it standing for a bit and check underneath - you'll see the signs. As for engine drinking fuel, that'll be mixture/tuning prob (u got a 1.6 injection?) - just pay the garage prior to the test to tune it for ya. Save you forking out for a retest etc...
Good luck...
8)
nah still got 1.2 injection on it, i knwo once i get carbs, thinking of 32/34 webber as it'll be less mad on fuel then twin 40's the whoe engine will be complete!
