View Full Version : dizzy in a late XE cocast head
hey guys,
i have a late XE cocast head with a GM stamp.
completely bare,
could i fit the right dizzy cams and run it on a dizzy rather then coilpak?
what implications are there if any?
many thanks
Yeah dizzy stuff will fit, you'll need everything management wise from the dizzy xe though.

like loom, ecu,
anything else?
You'll need the loom, ecu, dizzy, coil, afm, exhaust cam. Does it have the cosast stamp between 2&3?

Throttle body, injectors and fuel reg are different on dizzy engines as well.

lol, yeh thats one of my options atm, and probably one of the easier options, just costs a bomb.
if i was to run twin 40's could i run aftermarket management and be done away with the dizzy

yup use mega jolt to control the ignition side of things :thumb:
ok cool, i will have a look into it.
need to decide what to do first lol

Throttle body has no wedge on the throttle flap on a dispack and a different TPS.
Injectors are beige and fuel reg 2.5 bar on a dizzy one. 3 bar and blues on a dispack one.
Dispack engines seem far better in my experience.
ok cool, i have a wedge TB and a non wedge one, so thats ok. i dont have any injectors lol.
and im unsure what to run lol.
will see what comes up when i have some dollar
Sorry to crash the thread, but do the coscast heads have the waterpipe on the box end or the core plug and no pipe?

just as a note some coscast heads have a gm stamp on them as well, there has go to be at least 10 differnt styles of xe/let head's about :thumb:
yer, if you see ks stamped anywhere on it it isnt a coscast.
ok, mine has the GM stamp as well. does this mean its later?
and sloth, would it have the KS as well as the cocast stamp
also why does it mean its not a cocast?
some heads were made by a company called karl schmidt. his heads have ks, ks700 or ks200 cast into them. usually they have a core plug in the gearbox end of the head and gm logo on that end too. these are theones that have issues. a coscast always has the logo on the underside, and no core plug or gm logo.
hmmmmm, mine has GM on the gearbox end, but also the cocast stamp
not sure about a core plug tho.
If it's a dispack head it's a late one. I have a dispack coscast and it also has the gm stamp.
