I have just recieved a distributor but its from the later gsi 1600 engine , i was wondering can this dizzy be used on the gte model and also is the coil the same ? im useless with anything electrical
Should be fine yeah, as long as the plugs the same etc.
The coil may be a different plug though, some coils are cylinder things, where others are like a square block

yeh your right, youll wanna use that coil with the ignition module underneath it for your current setup.
the middle coil looks like a 1.4sr jobby that is missing the module to me.
and the far right looks like it might be from a 1.2 carb.
as far as running the different dizzys, youll first need to check it'll work mechanically, by checking to see if your engines cam is pin or slot drive to match the dizzy. im not great with electrics so dont take this next part as gospel. your loom connector doesnt fit the dizzy but it is still 3 pin, which is good as some are 2, so im assumuing you should be ok in finding a connector that attaches to it, with enough wiring length branching off from the connector to join the wires up in accordance to your ignition loom to complete the setup.
i noticed you dont have any lil spring clips securing the connectors down, ( just like my bag o turd ). youll wanna secure them down with something if poss, to stop the connector vibrating off its point when the engines running. i just wrapped a strand of electrical tape round it to make sure it doesnt come off.
Hey Boyle, sorry the parts aren't bolting straight on for you! It was definitely that coil and dizzy I was using with my Bosch 1.6 setup! Maybe somebody had fitted a new plug to my loom?
