i would go for 10" if you not going to spend top money so for the jbl 1000w 250w rms they dont sound to bad for money
but if 8" is what you want then kicker are ok they do two, one at £65 .150 watts RMS (300w peak). and one at £150 900watts /100-450 rms. you will need about a 1000w amp can pick a new one up for about £50 £150
hope this helps

SPLX are ****.

Infinity used to do a good range of budget 10" subs. I have a Reference 10" in my Nova at the mo and its great. Can't seem to find them online though :(

10'' Sony sub and an amp. Bob's your uncle; cheap bass and not too shabby either.

8" subs are great IMO. I've got a pair of kicker impulses to go on my next install. They were going into my Nova but will be in the golf now I think.

rarely used size though.

Used to have a pair of Focal 8's. Utopias or Polyglass - can't remember. Anyway they rocked.

I'd squeeze a 10" in your van if possible dude. Much more choice for the money. Also dependent on what genre you listen to, size plays a big part *snigger*

Sony Xpold are crap! Don't go near it. lol

I'd be tempted by an active Fli job. They seem(ed) to sound punchy enough and are nice and compact.

I'd recommend a JL audio sub which you can pick up fairly easy and last forever. Mines now 9 years old :d

Then buy a old Alpine v12 amp.

JL/Alpine match would be good - I have a JL 10W3v2d2 and Alpine MRD M605 in the Celica, purchased for about £100 all in from ebay, but they were second hand bargains.
