Jamacian Yellow SR

Hi,

I'm looking at getting a rally car and this shell is too unique to use for rallying.

It's a 1984 Nova SR, registered on the 13th March 1984 with 5 keepers. The shell is coming up for 82k on the clock and has a 2ltr XE in it. The engine has around 90k and has just had water pump and timing belt done. I also have a r/r output showing 159bhp from the standard engine. It does tap on start but soon goes away. It has a 3in outward rolled tailpipe and is loud:p

It's mot'd until March and tax'd until end Dec.

The shell is overall in good condition with two new arch repair panels done around 3 months ago, at the same time the boot area was painted too. The shell has not been seem welded.

The car sits on Gaz Coilovers with Gaz shocks and springs on the back

Speedline Allessios in white that could do with a repaint and new falkens all round.

The Interior is again in ok condition with bolster wear on drivers side, the original steering wheel and radio/tape player is there - no arial though.

The paint could do with a polish (£80) and this will bring the roof and bonnet back to what it should be as it's fading. I would suggest coming to look as each person has their own opinion on these cars and considering it's got the xe in it, it ain't for everyone.

I'm looking for £2850 or reasonable offers / SWAP. I bought it in Jan for £1750 and have spent near to £2600 on it. I won't let it go for low money as I do love this little buggy and it gets noticed everywhere as there aren't many Nova's left in Scotland - I'd prefer not to rally this due to how rare it is.

just out of interest, if you can't get £3k for it (or close) what will you do with it?

I'll more than likely take it off the road late October and have a full paint strip down - have it re-painted, all the suspension, fuel tank etc off and powder coated. Larger brakes and have the vinyl applied to the bottom instead of the grey paint it has at the minute. If this happens it'll be a summer car and prob just gather value and I'd seriously have to consider putting a 1.3 engine back in if I've done that much work to it!

Ok this fetched £1030 on eBay but obv missed reserve as i can break or trade for more. I'm going to keep it for sale until the 4th oct so if you are interested pm a price you're willing to pay and I'll let you know if I'll sell. If it doesn't sell I'll scrap for an new car.

Guess it comes down to money - If I can get enough to buy a good sencond hand car I'll keep the Nova but if it comes to me having to buy a cheaper new car as I'm about to ramp my milage way up I may have to trade the Nova in - just life mate:thumb:
