... I have just bought a Toyota Hilux Surf, knowing it has new tyres, no MOT, and broken speedo. Ive not seen it, dont know f**K all about it other than the above 4 things...

if its a 2.4 derv they love to pop head gaskets and crack heads. itll miss from cold then stop afte 30 secs. and the brakes always seize up, and the interior is pure 90's jap crap. but apart fro that theyre sound. the 3.0 td is spot on mind...

Thats because.. like most are made in the 90's, funnily enough, and with all toyota at least most stuff will work. That maybe so, but like anything, depends how their treated.
The only let with Jap cars is they dont like to drive when there horsepowers are broken :(
GM's will still do 50mph running on 3 cyclinders lol (or 2 if its a 12volt)

There finely tuned machines... now im just talking broken biscuits. My 89 Supra was a tidy wagon, sold it with 120k on it, and it moved to bath over a year ago and still its sweet all the electrics worked 100% on it.
Looking forward to this, gonna be a real suprise lol
true they do work well if treated good, but they can hide nasty suprises, 5 years at a toyota mainstealer taught me that....

Bollocks. My GT4 managed to drive home from devon on only two cylinders when the good old inner rocker gasket went and zonked #2 & #3 spark plugs.
