just tell them youve put an uprated carb on if theyre going to be weird, therefore you have declared the uprated engine mod shouldnt think it would matter whether its a single or twin

yeh i agree, just say you have an engine mod, and if they ask what area just say the fueling input or something.

should be specific enough for them i would of thought

Ring them and say "Hi, I wish to cancel my insurance as I'm changing to Sky" lol

Seriously though, would it not have made sense to ask them what categories they DO have for engine modifications? Quids on they'll have an "engine modification, performance >10%" category or something to that effect. Pretty sure thats what Admiral/Elephant/etc use.

Insurance companies don't necessarily have specific mods in their system (unlike specialist companies such as Flux/HIC, Sky, etc who just take a list of mods and go from that). So, for example, they wouldn't have "17 inch chrome alloys" but they would have "aftermarket alloy wheels". Dig?

As Razorjack states, Say it's a engine modification that'l give up to a 10% performance increase.
