i want to take the CAT out of my 1.2i, after my mot of course :wink: , but ive been warned not to, apparently the cat protects the engine in some way, and removing it could damage the valves. The guy who told me knows a LOT about cars, but lots of people take the cats off so whats the truth?

im in the same boat, ive been told to put on a 1.4 sri outlet manifold and down pipe and a gte front pipe to de-cat it!

have to agree wot a load of bolloxs

it wont harm ya engine at all, listen to mike and whip the fcuker off.

just out of interest ask your mate why it will damage your valves and what it actually protects? would love to hear that one!

mine come off my sri no problems at all.

Makes alot of difference power wise.
