Hello,

I went to go see an old fella today about his nova ski
im 17 in 7 days and ive wanted a nova for years now

both decided a price on £125
the car aint in the best of conditions but nothing to big
just few bits of rust around the arches and skirts

is £125 worth it for a nova ski?
ive never heard of them to be honest so i thort id get some good opinions from the people who know ;)

Cheers

There's a minter on here belonging to Matt (iirc) How bad is the rust? If only light I'd say you can't go wrong for £125. I don't know much about them, but I think skirts weren't fitted as standard to the Ski.

Get it. the decals make me lol. :)
Welcome BTW.

£125 for any car in road worthy condition is good enough in my eyes but for a Nova that's a ****ing good find, and welcome to the forum.

Thanks mate
:) and yh its not a big job, i checked the car all over
and i drove it up and down the road
i know what im doing with car engines seen as im a trainee mechanic
ive just never heard of them, i searched it on google and it came up on here where someone had bought one and he had spent alot of money on it and everyone was sayin how much of a nice car it was,

I was just oblivious to the price of how much to pay for it.

Matt's Nova is a beautttt
well the ski im lookin at isnt in that condition, the interior is perfect
the engine is perfect,
but the exterior is the let down.

Its belonged to an old fella for years, he bought it when it was brand new so i know it hasnt been ragged or tampered with,

Are SKI's rare? ive only ever seen that one and now Matt's since i searched on Google.

wwmnw
08-09-09, 04:25 PM
They are rarer than Nova's themselves.

L14MNP
08-09-09, 04:27 PM
Probably some dealer 'special edition'?

Do it.

Pete
08-09-09, 04:32 PM
Yeah i thort it was a good price for a Nova in general and if the SKI's are rare(er?) then im deffinatly going to do it.
Ive looked all over the tinternet for them and none compare to the price of this.

+Nath ill go up to the owners tonite and ill take a few pics and post them up on here and you can tell me what you think.

Welcome matey, not meaning to sound funny but you dont need our opinions tbh as you clearly have bought a cheap roadworthy car there and seem happy with your price for it, so get your spanners out, prepare to end up addicted to the lil fcukers and wanting rid of it for the rest of your life yet be somehow unable to bring yourself to shift it lol

amen spud, amen. so a ski yoghurt edition, cool. deck it on 13's and just krooze man. save the xe for later (19+)

So theres an early Mk1 SKi on PNG and a late Mk1 SKi - Nice one :thumb:

Pete
10-09-09, 02:27 PM
Haha np :)
i told you id upload the pics,
gives me a bit of a project to do getting rid of the rust etc,
but thats the only places theres any rust.

i like how matt's looks
but i dont want to create a replica of his so ill have to change a few things
but its an alrite car for the price :)

when i have it all looking beaut
then ill take it to a show or summit :)

JordyzNova
10-09-09, 02:28 PM

Looks good for £125. Tax and MOT, say £300 total..... That's about as cheap as it gets.

If that's the extent of the rot, you've got yourself a pretty tidy deal there.

Try looking in the boot floor, Inner Arches, Splashgaurds, Battery tray, Engine bay !

loool
its bein a MK1
end of that lol

and ive checked the boot floor, splashguards, inner arches, engine and battery and all seem in good condition, it was kept in his garage for years, and his garage got damp hence why theres alot of rust on the exterior.
but everthing else is fine. Thanks for the warning tho Nick :)

lol lol lol lol lol I Thought me and my sis was the only one to use that word, rep for you sir.

Should be a nice car, when it's cleaned up, it will be looking better straight away with a good thouragh clean and hoover out. Just remember the key to nowaday styling with novas is standard with a subtle modification (i.e wheels suspension) but im sure you know that. Look forward to seeing how it pans out.

Pete
10-09-09, 03:04 PM
Thanks mate :)
and id like it simular to Matt's but not identical.
but i like the alloys he has, his MO's
and how much do you lot think i should lower it by?
i know alot of people lower it by 40 but some lower by 80, which one is more prefered?

Stoo
10-09-09, 03:06 PM
Lowering is personal choice mate :)

Most people go for 30-50 for a nice compromise

pikey1986
10-09-09, 03:09 PM
imo dont go over 60mm if your going to put alloys on, the ride will be a touch on the bumpy side lol

Pete
10-09-09, 03:10 PM
i want it too low, but now so it looks naf,
i want a nice ride lol.

hmm ill have to looks around :)
see what i can find

I think you'll find Flux and HIC are the same.

My advice is ring around as many as possible and don't be tempted to agree to the first one that sweet talks you.
