ello!
This is my first post on PNG :)
I am after some advice re. my Nova. Or, more precisely, my family's Nova. Essentially, my parents no longer need it, it's taking up space in our drive and it has got to go
Common practice would probably see the old car be taken down the local scrappie. But that would be a shame; it's not not a bad car at all. It is a white 1988 F-reg 1.0 that my parents bought brand-new. It has covered a mere 115K, and has been lovingly looked after, with a full service history, regular oil changes and pretty gentle treatment its entire life.
Essentially, this car would be ideal for two purposes. Firstly, as an extremely cheap runaround. Tax is c. £100/yr, insurance is cheap as chips, the car uses almost no petrol and has always been utterly reliable.
Secondly, as an almost completely original car, it would be equally good as a base for any kind of project.
It's not perfect; there are some rust speckles on the doors and front valance and a funny noise from the front nearside wheel above 40mph (worn bearing??), but it's not bad at all and it'd be a shame to scrap the old girl. What do people reckon she might be worth?
Cheers,
George
