my strut tops are worn
(i think they are called strut-tops)
bits of rubber at the top of my suspension where u tighten bolts under bonnet, would the worn strut-tops make the ride bad?
i feel most bumps in the road

define worn? Is it all cracked and blistered?

They help cushion and absorb some impact but not as much as the springs n dampers. Does the car roll when on corners. Push down the front (or offending area) and if it doesnt rise then settle sounds like a shock issue.

Has car been lowered? If hard or v bumpy ride and at 60mm were the bump stops cut down? If not that will cause hard ride as stops are slammed into the tops.

You can get new rubbers from Vauxhall - dunno costs though.

I go with shocks or springs - and avoid pot holes.

yes they do effect the ride quality. and mot fail area too.
dont know how much they cost from vaux but online auto sport www.tuning.co.uk/nova/nova_frames.htm do competition ones for 30 each. prob be just as bumpy like when you do poly bushes i expect - but for the handling prob worth it???
