well mate heres a tip for you.

a couple weeks ago i went to the scrappy and there was a saab 2.0 turbo, so i took the pipe off the turbo with the rubber thing and bought it for 7 quid.

stuck a universal air filter on i got for nowt, and hey presto. oh i had to hacksaw it and modify it to fit aswell, but cant go wrong.

Personally I would have a look in some of the projects on here and learn about Novas. Plenty of 1.2's around on here and if insurance is expensive then becareful what you alter, don't forget you'll have to declare your modifications.

right magneticsr, i have a 1.2i k reg nova, and the best way iv found to increase power it to get a ram air scoop so more air in engine = more power, and also drive around with my grill off = cooler= more efficient= more power.
and also get the grinder out and cut slats in your wings so air rushes in and goes into the engine bay. but by far the best idea is to run the engine dry of oil, run it for 30 secs and put half oil back in, this removes all crap from cylinders and increases boar of cylinders increasing cc and hp.

also buy my wheels, as there wide and get better traction.

oh yeh, and a good polish helps the air move over your car faster, generating less drag, more speed.

when you add the ram air scoop, dont bother using a filter as it suffocates the engine, just get some thin gauze and tape it over the carb to catch any big bits !!!!!!

Yes but theres a power to weight ratio, it has to be calculated to see how much hp then engine acts like in a car of whatever weight it is.

well no its not figured on how much the engine has increased by taking the wieght out what they do is use the weight figures and the bhp ect to calculate what bhp it has per tonne!!

Dude, your first Nova is a 1.2, dont expect lightning, in fact I would suggest if you want power, actaully go out and buy an SRI or GSI rather than one that looks like one! and dont race on public roads you knob cheese!leave it to the track!!

My 1.2 is slow, i know it, but its fun that's the main thing, who cares that it apparently has 89mph top speed? All is know is on a private road itd take corners at that 89mph and other cars would be doing a lot less

J15 M6 bends, steep corner at 80ish, hair raising at 90, pant skidders at 100+ in the wet.

Ive had my sat nav say 112mph in a 1.0 12 volt Corsa bouncing of the limiter in 5th gear.

And a 1.2 Spi Corsa upto 108 on sat nav with a passenger in the front & ITR engine & box in the back (5 man lift jobbie, makes a GM V6 feel like a small block 8v!)

So TBH im sure a Nova could do similiar?

lol this is too precious, i just sat and read the whole lot, and to think ive wasted my year and loads of £££ putting a VXR engine in a nova and all i had to do was get an air scoop and polish the car...

Never been on M6 for 1 and for 2 it had ditchseekers on that were just plain scary in the wet doing 4mph so there not much chance of me doing a ton round a bend like that!! lol

However, when it was dry did handle like a dream & had great road holding! anyways I could only ever get it into triple figures on a straight!! never tried getting it that high on a bend!
