I had a cambelt go on my 1.2spi, but didn't realise and tried bumping it/turning it over loads and chucked a new belt on and ran it again with no prblems at all! :thumb:

yeh, i think your safe espically as it was small speeds.

just time it up, and whip a new belt on

ST's are safe for sure :)

Just make sure you line up the markings right and turn it over by hand first.

Speed doesn't reaaaaallly make that much difference though tbh. My mate snapped his 306 timing belt on ~900rpm and it bent all the valves.

If a piston is going to touch the valves, it'll touch them. Sure if its going balls out it may do a little more damage, but bent valves are pretty useless as much as smashed ones.

Thats true rj, i was told the X16XE in my tigra snapped the cambelt at 5000-6000rpm and only bent 6 valves lol

shes alive  found out that the cam had partialy siezed due to the fact that the mrs has been running it with no oil in it. so took off the dizzy and cam locking plate cracked the head bolts carefully to get some clearance from the lifters pulled the cam through slightly caked the journals and cam with oil then put it back in place along with the locking plate dizzy etc and turned by hand ok after that so put new belt and water pump on and she went first turn been out for a quick spin and all is good
