Hi all, i have recently bought webber twin 40s for my 1.4 nova sr. i was given an inlet manifold with it that im told will require the alternator to be lowered, heater pipes moved about and that they will sit with the trumpets facing the bulkhead. is it possible to get an upswept maifold so that the trumpets sit vertically? also if anyone has fitted these before and could give me a hand would be much appreciated! im in hoddesdon herts, cheers

There wouldn't be room... The carbs would be halfway out of the bonnet. Plus the carbs are designed to be flat....

Just fit the manifold you've got. All you need is a lowering bracket...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't work by installing them vertically.

Plus you're not gaining anything, If your worried about the proximity to the bulkhead , chop the top half off

what length are your trumpets - you may need shorter ones but I wouldnt think so if the full set up is off a nova. As already mentioned the carbs are designed to work flat - if you tipped them up the petrol would more than likely spill out lol, as for the alternator - you can buy a custom bracket - i got mine from tuning.co.uk or you can make a plate to lower your existing bracket, you'll also need a longer alternator upper bracket
