dispak amplifier???

the reason is that ive connected the loom and plugged in the dispak and im left with a plug that looks like its for a coil??

Ignition module perhaps??????
They still use a module similar to the one that sits under the coil on a dizzy motor! Do you have that chief?
Another plug at that end of the loom is for the Camshaft sensor.

dont think so pal. i thought with the dispak it took away the need for that.

I had one, 5 pins is it? and goes to another connector to the right side of the block?

Yes xe's have ignition modules to control the dispak
