is there?
BUGGER!
i ran a wire from my sidelight down the front - oh well!
ill check it out then i can remove the extra wire :D
as for the earth mate it gets scrwed to the underside of the bonnet.........
I did see some connectors under the water deflector near he heater motor all tapped up.
But
the lone wire that i saw near the coil and the headlights is a male spade connector witth a green wire coming out of the loom. I'll take a pic tomorow.
Where does the switch go for the light? i'm assuming that it has a switch?
So where exactly do i connect the light as there is nowt mentioned in the TIS or EPC unless someone else can find it.
I got a kit off someone on the net but it isn't original vaux and i don't want to tap into any wires if i can help it.
Thanks

a kit?
all you need is an old glovebox, interior light, boot light! take your pick, footwell light on the cavs! anything like that there ALL the same

Is this wire long enough to connect directly to the light or do i need to make a harness for it?
Thanks

you need either an aftermarket tacho.
or a set of dials with a rev counter (tacho)
or ultimately a digidash or other clockset

Yeah but if you look in the EPC you get this
90087070 - Harness, Assy, Engine compartment lamp.
11046372 - Washer, Fan shaped, 4.3, Engine compartment lamp
and a tie wrap
I have emailed my local vaux dealer to see how much they can rob me by lol.
It's only 10 mins away from my house and they deliver free lol why i never know, i can walk there.

think you will find that "harness" is a single wire.
it has a female connector on the one end and a ring connector on the other
the other part you have listed is used to screw the ring to the body (hole JUST below the square cut out for the light
and the femalse spade slides on the light
if you need pics email me or add me to your msn as i have thousands of everything on my car all shared out on my local boradband connection - ill give u a link or two.
Email reply regarding the harness as follows,
Thank you for your enquiry and I apologise for the delay in getting back to you.
I have spoken to our Parts department and they have informed me that the part 90087070 is no longer supplied by Vauxhall.
So it looks like i'll have to make it myself.
What would i need?
I have the light and bulb,
What type of wire would i need? Thickness etc
Connectors? size? male/female?
Thanks

ligt comes on and off with sidelights, so as long as your lights are on, so is the under bonnet light
I've got a little catch at the front of the bonnet which I've been told operates when the light under the bonnet comes on. I've not got a light under the bonnet myself, but I've been thinking about putting one in. The small catch works like the ones in the doors, when the doors open, the interior light comes on, you don't have to have the sidelights on. Same principle with the bonnet light. I do have a Mk2 Nova though, so maybe earlier models didn't have the catch in the engine bay :?
