Loved Phil's yellow one for years.

Like the orange/blue one purely because it looks almost factory, but at the same time top notch :)
With mine, i didn't see see anything, no loom/wires water pipes.. Then to tidy up and make nicer what i couldn't hide (see line lines and such) So all holes in the chassic legs, fire wall, slam panel where plated and smoothed.
Have a read of my thread, started doing the bay here, then carrys on from there.

Was it cut out due to rust? Or just to smooth the lines?
Just to smooth the lines and to box section it. i felt the way ive done it has added strength to it. Felt its better then having three layers of metal put together ..............
Nice, i simple welded the seams then plated over the top on mine.
Any finished bay pics of yours?

You guys have gone mental with the engine bays.
id just slap a bit of bodge over the seams lol
BIGS - Youce got an E-TECH Strut brace aswell, same as mine ;)

Prob is as the metal flexs under neath the filler it can crack.
So welding over the top gives it the strength and means you use alot less filler.

I was thinking about that earlier, he must have cut the area directly below the spark plug cover out completely so he will fit the plugs, then the leads and then fit the rocker cover!
Pic i saw its still got the normal tubes on the bottom...

What the tubes for the leads? Mmm, strange! Good work but I quite like the look of the rocker/cambelt covers in standard guise!

iirc he never posted pics of the underside:(
my idea is that he grinded off the piping etc.
EDIT
here's a link to his engine bay project thread.

It's probably been asked hundreds of times before but how do the front struts stay in place?
Wish i could understand that thread, makes it quicker to go through the pics without reading though. lol

wish I'd seen that 18 months ago!
Dilemma... Should I give myself something to do over the winter...
Ps. I'd imagine he's welded bolts to the underside so that all he needs to do to fix the mounts is locate the mount holes through the bolts and fire the nuts on with the help of an extension on his ratchet?!
