I think you will find that the base Nova (and hence Nova sport) was fitted with the 13SB eninge in the UK. I dont know where TV has got their info from but it is incorrect, check EPC. All the vauxhall 1300 engines I have ever had have been either 13S (astra, cav) or 13SB (nova). The 13N was fitted to Opel kaddets and has less power. All the engines are pretty much the same though, they are fitted with different carbs and inlets though.

i had a nova with a 1.3 'n' engine. the previous owner had fitted it into a 1.2.
it had 8.2:1 cr and 60hp & i wish i'd kept it..... obvious turbo conversion potential

all 1300 ohc engines with decent power (70+hp) had an S suffix. ie. 13s or 13sb (which i think had a metric oil filter)

the 13N was just coded as 13

does the sport have a diff thread for the oil filter ?

I think so it uses an imperial one. I had a guy who was looking for a 13SB block for a sport rebuild and he wanted the imperial thread. In the haynes manual it gives you the block change over no.
