Missing 1.6 GSi

my j reg 1.6 gsi starts ok and runs ok untill about 40 mph then when you put your foot down it misses it only seems to miss under load i can`t get it to miss on the drive ?
any ideas :?

when you miss do u mean misfire???

have you checked all the ignition, ie rotor arm, cap, plugs, leads coil. check for any shorting on any wires, i had a similar problem with my SR with a plug on the dizzy that had some bare wires touching on occasion

also check the fuel filter and pump, just incase

Id put money on the HT leads myself.

Whack it in 5th at about 30mph. Should jump about like mad under load like that. Id change the lot though. leads, cap and rotor arm.

yep, id say its defo to do with the ignition system if they aint been changed in a while...
