View Full Version : Free Nova shell (XE ready)
Have now stripped my Nova XE and was going to scrap the shell but thought i'd try it on here first. It will need suspension components, rack, disks and wheels to get it rolling.
It will come as a totally empty shell with doors, wings and bonnet still on but no tailgate. Engine bay has had some welding and a newish front panel but shell needs new rear arches.
MOT'd until next month and is a 2.0 on the logbook.
Pics of it in its former glory below. Will try and get some current pics for anyone seriously interested now but you can't be too picky as it is free.

how quick do you need it shifting mate?? 1st dibs?

are the hubs staying on the car and rear beam? if so il have it off you. il borrow my mates truck within the next few days and come and collect it if that's ok?
Will be ready to go by next weekend. First come first served i'm afraid.
Will leave the beam and front hubs on for £30, otherwise they will be removed too.
Guessing you will be getting it crushed if you take it Lee?

im not sure yet, more than likely i will be though. as you know i just want a few bits off it, if you can take them off then i will buy the hubs and beam off you and somebody else can take the car, or if you dont want to take them off i will just take the lot off you lol
but im not wanting to scrap it as it doesnt look too bad, so id rather just buy the bits off you. its upto you mate...
I can't be arsed taking the bits off to be honest as it will be more of a pain to shift and the scrappers will also give me £30 if they collect it as it is.
Would just roll it out of garage and whip wheels and shocks off when they are collecting.

well if nobody wants to take it off you to rebuild it by the weekend i will come and take it off your hands mate if you want. il also have a think if i could use the shell or not as iv always fancied a red nova lol
text or ring me when it is ready to be shifted and il take it if nobody else wants it :)
ps. il come down with my own shocks and wheels so its even less trouble for you.
No problem. Only got fuel tank, rack and electric window motors to remove now so only a couple of hours work maximum. Will be ready to go next weekend.
I'm going to miss it, Corsa just isn't the same.

ill take it with hubs an rear beam for £30 mate will it need any other parts to make it a rolling shell?cheers greg
Will need shocks, springs, brake disks and wheels and some way to stop it steering as it will have no rack on.

seems to be a few people wanting this but do we know who is having it yet?
Jughead1 has rang me tonight and is letting me know if he can get a trailer tomorrow to collect on Saturday.
He is planning to put it back on the road which is what i'd prefer to be honest.

thats understandable, it'l be a shame to let it get scrapped. if he cant pick it up though and you're desperate to get rid i can come down anytime to take it away

yes, i can collect whenever. il bring some shocks and wheels with me to roll it onto my mates VERY crap attempt of a tow truck lol
edit : just rang him and its ran out of fcuking tax and he doesnt have a logbook Lol. il see if i can borrow a trailor, probably same one we picked riggys shell up with.

just thought id ask will sound like a very daft question but as its ready for a 2L i prob wont be able to afford the insurance on one so id i did get this car would say a 1.4sri engine still go in it or would i have to change alot? that wouldnt bother me doing the work i really want another project as im not currently working just working for merseyside police special constabulary which is unpaid part time so would give me something to do in my spare time. cheers for any info. ian
Its logbooked as a 2.0 so will be a load of hassle to change back and will need inspecting by DVLA if going down engine sizes. Any engine will go back in though, just chassis leg has been modded for alternator clearance. All mounts are still original.

i cant find a trailor at the moment. like iv said, if somebody else wants to pick it up then that's fine by me, afterall i will be scrapping the shell. just a shame theres no tax on that truck because i would of come straight down.

It's not rolling anymore though and wings may be going today. You got parts to get it rolling?
what does it need to get it rolling, can come and collect in the next xouple of days,where in manchester you at, what post code?
have you got pic of how it stands now?
Needs wheels, suspension and brake disks to get it rolling. Shell has no passenger door or wings now.
I'm in OL4.
No other pics at the moment.

No pics as it stands now, its basically a totally bare shell with no running gear on, no passenger door, wings or tailgate.
Its definitely going Saturday as been messed around far too many times now and need the space back.

Its got one door and bonnet left on panel wise. Has got some tie bars, hubs and beam on.
Should lift it easy as there is absolutely nothing left inside or in the engine bay and no fuel tank etc on.
ok mate ill let you know just seeing what its going to cost me in the long run
right have sorted a trailer out mate i can collect saturday?? what does it need exactly to get it rolling?? would be easier for me tbh but if not no worries. PM me if you want cheers
