Hi ive been offered a full set of r1 bike carbs,nearly new.Everything there.Just wondered how much you lot thought i should pay??He wants £350.00.What do you think??:thumb:

Is that inclusive of manifold and everything to bolt onto your engine and get them running?

dizzy, coil amp, leads?

what engine you running them on?

I got a set of R1 Mikuni carbs, manifold, fuel pump, reg, H&H dizzy, coil and amp plus 8mm ht leads for £450

Everything but the carbs and pump were brand new :)

you running coil pack or distributor? you'll need a xe dizzy exhaust cam if you're going to use a dizzy from a cav 1.8 mk2. or a aftermarket electronic dizzy.

You can use megajolt but then you need a different coilpack and trigger wheel etc.

oh my god its just got really confusing!!!ive got a dizzy.would it be easier to use webbers??

you'll have the same problem, they're all carbs...

Forget the other post, if you have a dizzy set up now, look for a vauxhall big block carb dizzy, coil and amp.

Or buy a H&H one.

Find out whats in the bundle you've been offered, if its come from an xe it would have used a dizzy, or mejolt etc.

yeh...

carbs are circa £100 these days
manifold - £150-250
dizzy and bits - £250
Fuel pump - £50
fpr - £50

ok mate thanks a lot for your advice.will wait and see what i may get.oh ye is it worth all the hassle power wise?

Properly set up, they'll go well and you'll notice some gains.

You'll love the sound. If you go for more engine work, then obviously they'll make a bigger difference.

Its not the power increase, its the aural pleasure you will get when you first hear them scream:thumb:
