all linkages are the same i think.
help guys, my car i confusing me!
ok 80% of the time the car will go in first gear straight away, the other 20% i have to push it down for reverse and move the lever to the left and she will go in!
some times it the same for 2nd gear goin up the box!
going down the box 2nd gear is always hard to get in, i have to do what i do when i set off then she goes straight in!
The confusing bit being why does it some times just pop straight in?
Could it be my worn linkage or even gear box maybe, thats why i want to know what gearbox she has and if all gear linkages are the same??
some one must know

I would guess its the linkage worn as my TD did the same until i replaced the linkage - it got to the point that i could only get 5th 1 out of 10 attempts. IIRC they have f10's on them.
17td has f13, but i think the isuzu one has a bigger box....
cheers dude, it must be the linkage beacuse if i stop the engine i still cant get it in gear

where did you get the linkage from and how much??
under the back of the gearbox, there is a shaft with a pinchbolt on it, then look in haynes or similar

I went for second hand - i just made sure it had less play and wear in it than my own. One from a low milage car for example.
ok guys ta, i have just bought some bushes from vauxhall(the linkage is discontiued) so hopefully will be easy to repair :D
any one ever done this, i guess they just pop out and push in!
