Thanks to everyone that came to mk today. I think we all made it a success. It was good to meet a few people and see some very nice cars.
Thanks again especially those who travelled a long way and hopefully we can organise one again sometime.

I turned up in the metro today.But at least i got there.

Thats the right attitude, RB people may well turn up again, unless you really have something against that. It shouldn't be a problem in all reality, as we'd only be going for the same reason as you, meet like minded people, different site or not.

Plus its kinda a compliment in a way, its nothing to do with us, but we're going on reputation

Sorry about the cock up with the Willen Lake location :roll: . Unfotunatley whenever theres good weather everyone goes to Willen Lake, which is why it was so packed. The second location wasn't too bad, nice and quiet, just a shame people had to drive off in order to get food etc.

Rusty 16v, I'm not sure what you were expecting :| , it was just a meeting after all, it wasn't a RR or anything like that.

The day went pretty good though. There were some nice cars and it was good to talk to a few people face to face.

LOL @ Tilly and Will trying to outdo each other. Will "claims" to have acheived a higher speed, but do you really think he would have admitted getting less than you Tilly? ;) He wanted your numberplate for the Shrine he's starting in your honour :P

Stugsi, I'll be in touch about getting a few bits and pieces polished up, your engine bay looked really nice, can't wait to see the finished car :)

Spoke to quite a few others, but I'll be hear all day mentioning you all :P

Chris Ward managed to get the car home eventually. After two AA men and a tow truck later, he made it home. I think it was about 8:30 by the time the AA man took Chris away :(

You lot will not understand the amount of faffing about we had to do. To cut a long story short, I had to pretend I was Chris's passenger becasue my AA cover has full recovery, whereas Chris' is only local recovery :( For a brief minute I might have had to accompany Chris down to Kent in order to get his car home :o Fortuantley both AA men were pretty sound. I think the second AA man was drunk as he reversed into the gantry in the car park, LMFAO. He didn't do any damage to his truck, but the gantry now leans a little :oops: :lol: Chirs and I manged to blag it so that I didn't accompany him to Kent and eventually they managed to find Chris' road on the Routefinder that the AA use and off they went. Hopefully it's a fairly simple problem to fix on Chris' car.

Other than that it was a good day and I look forward to the next meet (providing my car isn't in the garage getting the engine rebuilt :| )

Apologies there wasn't a pub, resaurant or any other food/drinking related place nearby. You saw how full the car park was at Willen Lake. The second location was the backup location for such a circumstance. If another meeting is planned for Milton Keynes, then the location will have to assesed to compensate for food and drink. Xscape was the old meeting place, but they have now started to charge for parking :( Willen Lake would be ideal, but unfortunatley its one of the main attractions in Milton Keyens, especially when the sun comes out.

Ick, I thought your comments were a bit harsh mate. I don't blame MattyWoo for being a bit upset about people giving negative feedback, it was his first meeting that he organised and for a first timer I thought it went pretty well :)

Shame you RB guys didn't hang about a bit longer, you had some nice cars.

Maybe next time we'll find a location that suits everyone.

novaload does not acctually realise how many owners it has lost because of ian and his general attitude

the main reason i went was because i was hungrey if we had of stayed at willen we would not have gone we just went back there then on to the snow dome .
and that new location was to cold because it was open and the wind just blew accross .

You made some fair and valid points Ick.

The problem with Willen Lake is that it was packed. A couple of people actually told me they were glad we moved becasue there were A LOT of young kids walking about. All it takes is someone to lose a bit of concentration and floor it away whilst showing off and run a small child over. This might seem a bit extreme, but ask yourself if you think there might have been a small chance of this actually happening. Every meeting I've been to, someone nails it away in the carpark screeching there tyres trying to show off. Whilst there doing this, there looking in there rear view mirror to see the reactions of everyone else and not looking at what or who is in front of them.

Ok, the second location was open, but it wasn't actually that cold. There wasn't anything immediate in the way of food and drink or facilities, but thats the price you pay when trying to look for a quiet location where we can park up and not bother anyone.

Mcdonalds was literally 5mins down the road. The 60mph speed limits in MK meant that if people were hungry they could have popped down to Mcdonalds and then back again within a matter of minutes.

The only down side to you guys leaving so soon is that none of us got to mingle with you all. Ok, I've met you before Ick, but I didn't get a chance to chat to the other guys, or take any pictures of your cars, as the majority of you all had pretty nice motors.

No grudges will be held if theres another meeting and you decide to turn up.

Like I said, next time the organises, be it Matt, me, Mike, whoever, will try and take into account facilities for food and drink for everyone. The problem with getting a mobile burger bar is that they usually want an expected number of people to come along so that they actually make money. With local meetings like this, I'd refuse to try and organise this, as people will drop out at the last minute.

Either way, lets put any bickering behind us, it's not worth it.
