hi , the engine management light came on, on my mk4 astra sri 2.0 16v (x20xev)

diagnosed it and it said ,

throttle position sensor low voltage.
camshaft sensor incorrect signal.

iv changed both of these sensors with brand new items and the fault is still there.
its doin my head in as it has flat spots through the rev range and wont rev over 4500 rpm.
using loads of fuel too.

any suggestions??

thanks.

timing belt slack? also crank sensor could be faulty and causing the cam sensor and tps to get the wrong info,

timing belt slack? also crank sensor could be faulty and causing the cam sensor and tps to get the wrong info,

really think so??
timing belt is fine.

surely it would come up on diagnostics about the crank sensor?

the ecu only knows what its being fed from the sensors, its common on x20xevs to have a bit of slack in the belt and gives the cam sensor a false reading, you need to get the car on a machine with a graphing mode to diagnose the fault, im in the trade and do all the diagnostic stuff at my work and have come accross a few x20xevs with intermittent cam and crank sensor faults and one of the was a stretch timing belt, but obviously i havnt seen yours so you need someone in the know to investigate it a bit chap

Your 1st mistake was taking the fault codes literally. The fault more than likely lies with the loom connecting said sensors.

any ideas how i can fix the problem?

As said, the wiring for the cam and crank sensors on these is very guilty of failing. It becomes very brittle, and is the major failing point on these engines.

Check all wiring to and from these sensors and id put money on it being damaged somwehere.

Usually where it clips into the rocker cover (youll understand when you see it)
