Can a cracked manifold sound tappety?

tappy when cold, fine when warm

Can also just be the manifold gasket blowing

nope but not really had a proper look yet.

long time ago i know, but cant see a crack, sounds like its blowing but cant see where from?

this happened to my old rover coupe, it was a couple of nuts that had come loose, failing that try the manifold gasket

Weather pending, i'll have a good look and listen tonight. No doubt the bolts will snap as they are mega rusty!
