View Full Version : Are they the same internals??

Are the internals of the E16SE and C16NZ the same??
i.e piston rings,valves,shells and valve springs.

Looking for the above for a Gsi with an E16SE fitted but seem very hard to find unless I am looking in the wrong places??

Any advice??

the blocks probably are & the valve springs & shells.. c16se & e16se are practically identical, internally

The E16SE was fitted to the GTE's, the C16SE was fitted to most GSI's.

C16SE was fitted top 92-93 Gsi's as it coincides with the need for a cat/new emission regs. E16SE didn't have one. Pretty rare to find a C16SE engined Nova from what I've seen, better management system though, they manage the same power as the E16SE with a restrictive cat fitted.
