Mind you, that doesn't mean its not legit. Anyway... if her names not on the V5 (doesn't matter if she paid for it, if its got his name on it) whats the legalities of the sale?
his prized wine collection can't be up to much if it will fit in a boot of a 911
also, if he's that loaded, and there are kids.... the lawyers will be involved.
Sh*te car from a sh*t hole.

If his name isn't on the V5, the DVLA still own it the same as every car registered with them or some crap like that lol Basically if you've paid for it from someone who in turn paid for it, it's legally yours I believe. V5 isn't worth the paper it's written on where actual legal ownership is concerned afaik. Was reading up on all the apply for V5 and steal car type things going around the net a while ago lol

I'm aware of that bit, but I'm sure this has been covered before. As whats to stop me selling just some random car? Along with the old get a V5 for a car thats laid up whilst the owner is away on holiday or whatever.
Not this again! lol
You WILL get the V5c if the present owner doesn't contest the application (V62?) for a logbook in your name.
However, this doesn't mean you legally own the car (yeah right!) lol

Same thing that stops you picking up anything and selling it, theres a whole load of laws relating to theft, handling stolen goods etc lol You kinda cut out the important bit of my post :p
I know someone who got a 6 month old jag for £1 about 20 years ago as the mrs had to sale everything and give him half, he bought for a £1 and he had to sign reciept in front of laywer lmfao
