As per title, never had a problem using standard mounts, till this one Lol!
The rear mount won't go anywhere near, and the gearbox is touching the front n/s mounting bracket. what's wrong?
I'm using the chris astley mounts.

Mine was like that took three people to get the bolt in

did you cut the bolt down that goes through the gearbox mount bracket? need to do that, and mine was like that at the rear, i took the mount off the car, put the bolt through the middle then forced the rubber mount back using a screwdriver through one bolt hole and bolted the other up. only other thing i can think of is it has a corsa o/s/f rubber mount instead of a nova one, this causes the engine to twist in the bay and wont line up (i know 'coz i tried as i was too tight to spend 7.50 on a new one lol)

It's only resting on a large screwdriver on the g/box side atm. I won't bolt everything up tight until every bolt is in a couple of turns. The engine and gearbox has come out of another nova, and someone hadn't cut the bolt down g/box side, should see where it's worn the g/box away! Even with a 3ft prybar levering it forward i can't get the bolt through!

Is the gearbox mount the right way round as in the one by the passegers feet rubber bit.
Have you tryed taking it off turning round 180' then refit.
Just an idear John.

Done mine on the ramp today, took 2 of us with long lever bars and an exhaust jack to push it up to get the rear bolt in! A right pain. Try loosening the 3 bolts that go through the mount into the box, thats what i had to do.

i had the same problem fitting mine, the rear mount looks a bit under stress but i got it in, or i should say my big grizzly mate did.haha.

i think the mount wants coming forward as you can see where it was once bolted to when the f13 box was in.

Ernie has a point worth checking.

The arrow is pointing forwards in the pic, as it should

Edit: Actually it looks like its facing the wrong way in ernies first quoted pic?

it doesn't make any difference if i turn the mount around.

elongate the hole on the rear mount and get a massive bar and a mate!;)

I have done 2 like that and it wasnt pleasant!

I have had this problem as well but only when I fitted the F28. Problem with elongating the hole is the gear linkage might hit the rack then as I know mine did so had to end up forcing a normal mount to go on without the elongated hole.

I had problems getting that mount to fit on my 1.2. I found it easiest to bolt that mount up first, then strong arm the other two.

Surely it shouldn't be this tight? it's just putting stress on the mounts/bolts?
Dan i might have a go at it that way tommorow.

John ive always had trouble lining up that back mount on a nova. Ive done a corsa conversion too, i put that back bolt in first then hoisted the engine up to line the fronts. Lined up perfect first time was so much easier!
