View Full Version : LET Exposed verniers
Can anyone tell me how the cam belt covers are cut to expose the verniers on an xe or let? I know they are cut with a hole saw or steady hand and a jigsaw but what I want to know is how to get the centres perfect, Ive seen them done badly and think it looks sh1t, and it will be running adjustably pulleys before anyone says standard pulleys look rubbish exposed, I don't have spares to try on as it is a late type and I don't find them as common. Any gen will be much appreciated and rep will be given
Thanks in advance
How do I get the hole centres perfect???
It a word its easy mate, carefully measure on the inside to get your two centre points. Then you can decide how big you want the holes and just bore through with a good quality hole saw as a jig saw will never get them perfectly circular. Some prefer larger holes than others. Myself I opted for slighty smaller ones at 100mm Iirc. Once finshed it looked spot on....... Im sure I have some measurements written down somewhere for future use if you get stuck.

Nick.
That would be great if you still have them Nick, I'm sh1te at measuring stuff and getting it right first time, and I'd have to agree with you I think the smaller hole looks better, as long as its big enough to adjust the pulleys
i bought a cover with them already cut out, dont know how big the holes are, but as you said you will idealy want to adjust the pulleys.
