Hi all just wondering how to tighten up the steering rack to the hub as the ball joint just keeps spinning!!!!

Hit it on the top with a hammer and it'll push the taper in more

use a big bar under chassis and over the track rod end get someone to apply pressure to the bar as you tighten

just replace them they are about £5 each from your local motor factors. If you dont it no it will only make them a bitch to get of next time you want to remove the hub lol

Pah sorry ment to say track rod end.

As browney said, replace them, ive had so much pain over them when you cant get them undone :(

Hes trying to tighten it not loosen!!
They all spin around seeing as its a balljoint.....
Even new ones

You have to clamp down the joint into the steering knuckle. I usually use a big g-clamp on the track rod end

Compressor and impact gun is perfect for this job, both tightening and loosening.

Ive never had to compress it to tighten.

ive found a g clamp has worked well in the past.once off fit new ones as only a few quid.
