:tard: theres always one ffs be serious its not im muppet corner:thumb:
no spec, asking what power.... 5bhp is a valid suggestion. Get off that high horsey

i pressume the majority of people have looked at the project thread.
I dont read project threads, they bore me :p

Why have you asked for it to be removed? :wtf:
I reckon 269 if it don't blow up.
under forum rules there must be a burgo option.... I vote BURGO. if it makes 280hp or more, it will do well... hp as opposed to php is always a contentious subject

Funny get lol your right though, about the breakfast lol Im even more in the cr@p as she thinks your a girl lol Well that's lunch and dinner out the window as well. lol
IF all goes to plan the tophat will restrict power at 350ish then the turbo @400 depends where you're having it setup and whether you want a power figure to talk about down the pub or if it's setup to actually be useable.
i reckon 372 :)
as i already said dont know alot out spec and numbers as ive never experanced engine upgrades :)

its all about the pub talk bhp lollollollollollollollollollol
370 very similar spec to my mates, but my mates LET i built is running a bigger turbo with gen 400bhp not pub talk

you seem to have spent alot of money on your engine, probably better going with a more decent ecu, ive heard emerald aren't the mutts nutts tbh

it makes me laugh when people say the ecu is not this or not that , its all down to the person mapping it, you could have the best ecu on the market but if the person you chose to map it is not familiar then its wasted, the guy mapping mine likes working with emerald so is able to get the best out of it!
everyone has there preference, but upon choosing somebody to map the nova i rang him up asking what systems he preferred to work with emerald , and dta were mentioned, he has mapped a 500+ corsa turbo on k3 he must know how to map it :thumb:

i was only saying that as i have a mate who is a professional mapper, his reasons for not liking emerald are they aren't as fully customisable according to him, something to do with pulse modulation and running it through an ecu, everything is cheaper for a reason, but saying that im sure your right, a professional bmx'er can still do a backflip on a childs bike!

if you cant get the argument straight dont bother :p "something to do with something" isnt a valid reason.
but in short easy terms, ECU spec means dick if the guy using it is a retard.

emerald ecu's don't have the ability to run PWM through them to allow for super accurate boost tuning
i think your a meanie stu :d
but yes, i have no idea what i talking about lol
depends what type of boost control method you are using ;)
Tidy Max
20-08-09, 09:25 AM
he usually tunes skylines, scoobies etc, so electronic i expect, anyway im just talking out of my **** lol the most i know about boosts is they cost 65p from the shop and my favorite was the green guarana one which they stopped making, *******s, and what i just quickly tried to read up on wiki to form a half decent argument muhahahaha
electronic boost control is a bit like saying I like pistons in my engine...... VAUGE.
the emerald could try controlling the boost solenoid itself (which its less than likely to be able to do given the lack of PWM) or you can use something like an apexi to control the boost and then map the fuel to suit. Both being electronic, and there are other methods too.

emerald uses a boost control solenoid (a vag item) this is how it is set up on the nova!
seems to work fine, its all down to the person using it, as stuart said if you pick a system then take it somewhere that is not familiar with it then they will says it rubbish and awkward to map, based on the fact that its not what they are used too
i no people who love omex, i no people who prefer only megasquirt its what you know!!
no mention of double valve springs? We have had trouble with anything over 21psi, where the amount of air being forced into the engine is literally holding the valve open...
I'll take a guess at 300 at least that way if everybody goes for that and you get more its a good feeling rather than expecting massive figures and being dissapointed

no need for double valve springs i have gone for an uprated single spring from piper
my mate g8wcc saw over 400bhp and his were on std gm springs:thumb:
nic barnes saw over 440 on std head
when is it going on the rollers?

it will make what ever it makes, it will be a dalm site nicer to drive than a generic chip set thats for sure :thumb:

all comes down to reliability.
2 mates ive built lets for, same rods/pistons, did same work on the heads, except one lad is running dual springs, steel caps, solid lifters, where as the other lad is running stock valve train. but for prolonged use my mates with the solids will be far better overall especially if on track days.
