Hi,
I have been contemplating doing this for a long while now, i used to have a suzuki sj and i took the nudge bar off and put it up to my nova and i thought it looked pretty good. So now i have a nova doing nothing and i have just bought a nudge bar from a suzuki sj and chopped the side wrap around parts off, so i just have the main part of the nudge bar (the Middle Bit). My reason in posting is mounting it to the car, the easiest option i have is to mount it onto the front cross member but i just dont know if this is the safest way or is structually sound enough, my other option is to fabricate some brackets to mount it too the chassis, which is the better and more safest option i think but will be alot harder to make the brackets up. Just want to know what you think or know would be the best place to mount it. I know people won't like the idea and some will but i have had it in my head to do this.
Cheers

Are they still legal? I'm sure there was a law brought out regarding bull bars a few years back. Goes off for a look...
EDIT just found this. CLICKY (http://www.frontalprotectionsystems.eu/ec-approved-fps/EUapprovedFrontalProtectionSystems2.php) You maybe alright if it's a nudge bar by the looks of thinks, if its not too high. Do you have cattle at how or something lol
The fashion police tried to ban them.

Why not? like i said i put it up to the nova and i liked the look of it so i thought i would at least try it. I also have a nova just sitting there doing nothing so i might aswell let my creative side out on it.

do a dukes of hazzard rep on it, little black nudge bar is just the thing :)
Its silly but the cross member is the best place to mount it, or drill through the bumper and fix it to the bumper beam.
Reminds me of Oz and the 'roo bars on normal cars lol
Of course they have a reason!

I do have a stinger cb ariel too, and the general is my dream car. But that's not why im doing it, the only general rep i would do is a 1969 charger.

Do you think the cross member would be strong enough to mount it too. Because i would make up some brackets to weld to the bottom of the cross member poking out of the front valance then bolt to the nudge bar. Which would be quite easy. Just not sure if it is structaully strong enough to hold it. I have no irons in my bumpers they are lightened with pins through.
The x member holds the two chassis legs together! It takes all the streess of cornering.
As long as its not rusty as hell then its fine.

Allthough that would be cool, no i just want something different and has a bit of mean-ess (i know thats not a word) and looks a bit tougher.

Qaulity thats made my day, just wanted to know if it was strong enough, no the car only has 39,000 miles on it so it's not got that much rust.
