Anyone ever got rust in their eyes?

as above? i have had some for over a week now and have tried to wash it out but no good someone said that my skin on me eye has grown over the rust anyone ever expeirenced this? its not really giving e any jip but im worried lol trip up a n e tomorrow i think!! :mad:

Get to the eye hospital now! You get a rust ring form around the speck which will be embedded in your eye. If its been over a few days your in for a fun date with a nurse and a needle.

Plenty times, i still have a miniscule peice of stainless shard in my eye from over 5 years ago (using lathe with no goggles :( )

The skin on the eye will start to grow over bits with in 24hours for really small bits. 48 for big bits.

If you'll lucky they'll use a weird magnet thing, if your not ( and with the time you've left it) they'll be picking it out with a needle.

I got rust in my eye the first couple weeks after i bought the nova i went straight in my mates bathroom and had to pull my eyelid down and put water in my eye and its horrible but i pushed it out with my finger and touched my eye :cry: but i was worried and wanted it out asap.


my dad had rust in his eye years ago and he went to the eye infirmary and from what i heard he had to keep his eye open while they put a needle on and scrape it off :tard:

Yep, my mum got a very small fly stuck on her eye ball while cycling, luckily she went to casualty the day after and they said if she hadn't come along so quickly, it would have been more serious to remove. They told her the same a these lot say, 24 hours and your eye develops a new film, perhaps over whatever is in your eye

I had rust in my eye when I took the grinder to the nova. Didn't think about which way I was holding it and chucked a load of ground off rust into my face lol

Meh, I just went up to the bathroom, washed my eyes out and then just picked out any little bits off rust off my eyeballs with my fingers. I wear contact lenses so I'm used to touching my eyes though, and they protected my cornea from crap.

I've had the needle removal technique after getting a bit of metal in my eye from grinding.

As already said a million times it is not pleasant at all so I always where eye protection when under a car now, crap + gravity + eyes don't mix.

While the nurse was poking me in the eye with the needle I just couldn't stop thinking about her slipping and sticking it right in or something aghhhhh

I got a bit of metal stuck in an eye when grinding underneath the nova. I was even wearing googles! But the bits of molten metal just jump about all over the place, and managed to get through a gap I guess. It hurt like hell, but I managed to pull it out myself. The cut it made into my eyeball was quite painful, I couldn't sleep for a few nights afterwards.

Still it wasn't as scary as when I lost control of an angle grinder, grinding the inside of the rear arch, with my head also in the arch. The grinder just flew into my head, and untill I managed to scramble my way to look in a mirror I couldn't tell if the blade had gone in. Luckily it was just the metal handle, but it hurt so much I couldn't untill I saw my head.

Perhaps googles and the like aren't enough, a full racing helmet is the way to go perhaps...

Limp, No I have gas permeables. They couldn't do my prescription in soft/disposable ones (although I think they can now, I can't be arsed to switch). Plus hard ones are more expensive to buy initially, but much cheaper in the long run as you buy one pair and they can last for years.

rofl no he didn't. If a contact lens could go behind the eye, you'd have far worse problems. Namely your eye has become detatched from the eye socket and has probably fallen out lol

You can lose a lens in an eye if it goes on a wander. Mine do that sporadically, so if you see me frantically rubbing my eye at a show its me trying to chase it round my eyeball so it goes back in place lol

i'm wearing contacs lenses for years, so eye poking isnt a big deal for me.

the saved me from metal a few times too, the lens was a bit melted when a spark hit my eye lol
