i have a nova 2.0 8v. one promblem it keeps pulling it out of the gear box or ****ing the cv joint it self. im just about to have to buy 5th one now. can any one help in why it keeps doing this. someone said to me that my shaft is just a little short? help me please!!!
1.you aren't pushing the cv joint into the box hard enough.
2. stop hitting the fast pedal twhen you are on a tight steering lock.

car is bent or the mounts are making engine sit funny.
what shafts are you using for the conversion , i got the m tech conversion ones and with them they come supplied with a washer that needs to be placed over the outer spline b4 you place the joint through the wheel bearing and tighten , this is tio take away some of the slack , might be a similar washer needed on yours and easily forgotten when rebuilding , my kit takes big cv joints inside and out by the way

im just using the standed astra drive shafts. i did think about using washers.

on a nova, the driveshafts are shorter than an astra by several inches......
astra shafts?!?! youre most likely banging the inside with the shaft, as the are longer than nova shafts.

check the shafts against NOVA items for length.

cant be astra shafts surely as you wouldnt get the ball joints back in as there too long and would hold the hub out.

I had a simaliar problem and eventually found my engine about 4mm too far over to one side.

its just that the short drive shaft is the one that ****s up all the time. but the long drive shaft is nearly popping out as well.
you must have some chassis distortion somewhere... what state are the engine & suspension mounts???? does it have a chassis strengthening kit??? has the bay been stitch welded??? how low are you running it??

sounds like the bay's not been strengthened, if you don't strengthen the bay, the torque pulls the car apart...or atleast twists the front end, it sounds like its been running for quite a while
