i did a search of the bbc lincolnshire website & found this:
Work begins on new straw houses
Building work has begun on the first council houses in Lincolnshire to be built from straw. North Kesteven District Council, which is behind the scheme in Waddington, says they are cheaper to build and more sustainable than traditional brick.
The public are being encouraged to get involved, with training courses in natural construction being run on site.
Councillor Stuart Ogden of North Kesteven District Council said he hoped more people would follow the example.
He said: "What I would personally like to see out of this is that local people would say, 'This is a good idea, we could build a house like this' and that's where these courses come along from."
North Kesteven District Council claims to be the first UK local authority to use straw technology for its housing.
have these yokels never heard of big bad wolves????
