View Full Version : steering knuckle lock nut?

there is a ball joint where the steering bar thing joins the hub, as its got to the end of the thread, the whole thread has started spinning now so i cant get the nut off!!

any ideas?

Try a buzz gun or forcing a ball joint splitter in there first to put some pressure on it or heat, if your replacing the ball joint

this happened to me, you need to lever down on the track rod end and then start to loosen it. If this doesnt work (which it didnt for me) i just replaced it.

how did you replace it without removing it lol ill try forcing it down, the simplest things are proving to be a nightmare!

used a grinder to cut the nut off, then just loosened the locking nut on the steering arm and it spins off. and yeah, simple things! lol always

on mines there is an alan key hole at the bottom of the thred

or just hold the thread with mole grips and then loosen the nut. may damage the thread though
