I know him, lives round the corner from me, ive been to have a look at it about an hour ago. Its not bad, needs some love, the rear arches have been done and its not a very good job, can see where the welds were ground back and painted over.

For £400 you cant really go wrong imo, could do much much worse! I want it but have no room, lol

I was interested - it was worth the money cos it had T&T, but it had a bit of welding in the boot and the seams on the bay, and the rear quarters were a bit iffey and needed a door - good colour and rare car really - so someone got a good deal tbh.

I was gunning for £300, as it wasnt worth anymore to me, but for a daily slugger - would be ideal!:thumb:

Unfortunately it has a dust bin exhaust on it. I'll have a closer inspection in the morning too.

Feels so good to drive a nova after about 2 years of driving other ****ters, like my civic (my god how boring)!

How bad's the welding?! When I started asking questions, i got some funny answers and dodgy vibes, he said it was brilliant.

I was going to go down after work and um'd and ar'd, then decided that if it was still there sat morning I'd go down and offer £300. Said he'd take £350 on the phone.

I told my bro he should never of sold his Callipso GTE, definately one of the nicest colours, but he couldn't turn down £1200...

The welding on the inner wing is ok, nothing special I wouldn't go as far as to say its brilliant.

The rear arches have been done, so no rust from what I can see, one of the skirts is coing away slightly. As someone said earlier on in the thread, you can see where they've been done as it hasn't been ground back and filled properley (mind you I couldn't do any better). There is a slight run on the drivers side too and you can see an edge in the respray if you look very closely.

I had to drive the ****ing thing back about 40miles round the M25 with no insurence as the dappy 'american' insurence lady was a ****ing nightmare. It turns out she was canadian it was at that point she hung up on me lol.

Will sort that out tommorow.

As for the nova bug, its definately got me again. I'm already itching to drive it. The missus wants a go too, hopefully she doesn't put this into the wall next to my drive like her first car...

All in all I'm exceedingly happy - for once :D

Will do Spudly, I've aready had my licence revoked and plan to stay on the straight an narrow for the rest of my driving career as it wasn't much fun walking everywhere!

I think so too, its not mint - but for the price I paid I can't argue one bit!

The blue one is also mine, it was a 1.4 once upon a time, its got an XE in it now. Been sat there for about a year, it just needs a few bits to finish it. Unfortunately I cant afford the insurence (due to me losing my licence a few years back). Might be up for sale soon to fund a few bits on the GTE.

I've just removed the dustbin and replaced it with exhaust from the XE, doesn't quite fit right (sticks out a bit far from the bumper due to the 'power' flow centre section. Ill chop it down and get a mate to reweld it on as I can afford a new backbox as I'm still unemployed :(

Sexy twisty lol I think mine needs a clean.

gte rear splitter in better nick than that one I can't afford it atm as I'm enemployed but I may sell the XE to fund this one. So watch this space, or the cars for sale section!

i will start a project thread up tomorrow as I've still got astra GTE calipers, discs and a cav slabs in gloss black to go on. I was thinking of changing the front end for mk2 aswell.

Well pointed out nova fusion, I will check that out when I do the wheels and the brakes. I forgot to mention that the spring on that side had relocated itself. So I sorted that out aswell. Sills are abit rusty tbh too. I think its just surface rust though. I'll see whats behind them skirts at somepoint too.
