check contact ring between steering wheel and stalk holder bit

and also check the connections to the horn unit - thats where my problem lay!

Usually its the contact ring though - you can get a brand new one for 99p from vauxhall parts world online!! It fits in the back of steering wheel

Where is the contact ring, do i have to take the middle out of the wheel?

if you understand that then + rep lol :L

yes, but its more likely that the horn itself is about to fail totally.

Take the wheel off, between the wheel and the boss should be an extra, flat, metal ring which comes from the OEM wheel.

OR you could just lean out the window and shout "Poot Poot" lol

The contact ring can be easily removed when steering wheel is off - but before take centre horn push out and check wires are ok first

And check horn unit itself as getting a steering wheel off is last resort for me :)

I know this thread is a few days old but....borrow another horn to test before playing with the steering wheel. Might avoid swearing/small parts flying everywhere.

....Could fit a relay and a pair of windtone horns.. Wise man say small car need big voice when in land of BMW.
