I want a cheap amp but dont know what to get. I dont want to get trapped by looking at big wattage numbers when i know for example a 250w Alpine is going to be better that a 1000w Boss.
Can anyone help me in what is the best sound and power for the money.
I am looking at the ?150 range.
I just want it to run a sub or two (not sure which ones yet)
I will run the 6x9's of the head unit.
Thanks
No one will say n e thing until they know what subs, how many and what wattage! No good us commenting on what amp when we dont know anything including your budget!
For example: Unlimited cash = Directed and Rockford!
Limited = Usual brands!
Give us some more detail
Ta!

At the min i have my mums 12" Ultimate sub 600w i think, but i will have to get one of my own eventually. For the mean time i just need to get an amp cos my mum wont let me take the one out of her car (1000w boss amp). I dont think the boss is very good.
I want cheap but quality, or somewhere in between.
?150 on an amp kinda price
Pioneer GMX 962 ??? I heard this was good in a previous subject for running subs only not with 6x9s aswell.

Well done to ur mum for avin an amp & subs!! MY parents hate the BIG bass!
If I were you & was on a budjet. I would consider buying a second hand Amp.
As for subs, I'd buy them new. Kenwood (the new blues ones cant remember the model of em) are suppost to be good on a budget.

aint they the sorta tornado or something ones?
i heard they pretty good too.
Pioneer amps are fine for any speaker! The 692 is too high a rating for 6x9's though thats all! And its only 2 channel which is all you need if you only wanna power a sub!
Like I said, I recommend it coz its cheap at ?115 and will boot out 500watts RMS! Maybe too much for that sub you have! Which i am presuming is 300 watts RMS! Could always turn the gain down!
Upto you! Just make sure you match the RMS rating of the two! THAT IS IMPORTANT!

THanks for the help.
I will look at getting that amp, new or secondhand if there is one about. As for the Subs i will give those kenwood ones a listen.
