View Full Version : how to run a techometer to a 1992 1.2 carb nova?

As it doesn't have a techometer on and i would like one but don't no how i would do it as it doesn't have the wires ? thanks rob

there is a spare terminal on the coil, run a wire from there to the rev counter of your choice

a Mk2 will definatly have the wires in there, you just need to change the clocks for a 4/6 (SR/SRi/GSI) dial set up and it should work. Alternatively, if you defo want an aftermarket rev gauge, then take the dials out and splice a feed from the green wire (worth checking in haynes that its the right one) and that should be all you need (bar wiring the earth, accesory and illumination wires that the aftermarket dial will prolby need)

On the 1.2 carb coil the tachometer terminal is the lower forwardmost one. If it has a green wire running from that terminal then that green wire will be taped up behind the dials. If its not there then you'll need to run one.

It will be there ALL mk2s have the wire.

hi there im unsure here as the dash has only a mph gauge no rev gauge does it still have the wires for a rev gauge going into the dash thing?

Neither did mine.

IIRC the carbs didnt have the green wire yet the SPI's did.

got this sorted works fine and it was a green wire in the distributor cap looks Ace thanks all
