Tbh it will look Shiite, so I don't think it will be worth doing. Oh and trying to fit them in the real world would be even worse. :thumb:

L33 LEG

nah im taking the piss sorry lol

seriously though, i understand why you want to do it. im also not a fan of speedlines and like something different but if you take a look through the projects you can see people can be different without putting on oversized bumpers.

if it has been done before then i really dont see the point of wasting time and money in doing it, it really will look wrong. if this was the 90s then it may of worked, with big wheels and a spoiler to match, not now though.

however, it's your car. if you want to give it a go get it done. and instead of taking peoples comments to heart, try and prove them wrong :thumb:

ant_tay
11-08-09, 02:18 PM
i repped you anyway and they wont be oversized when i am finish with them and have still yet to see any sort of proof of it done apart from that guy on page one until pics prove me wrong but im still gonna do it anyway

make sure you get a project thread up then, if you really want to do it then fair enough :thumb: i hope you do prove us all wrong, if it does fail tho then its just a learning curve. good luck

or why not try a nova bumper, for the ultimate fit*

*actually, this comment is tripe, nothing on a nova fits how it should

Do you want a ladder...to get off that high horse of yours!

TBH, people are saying it will look ****e because it will. A Nova is fairly square, whilst the mk3 Astra is rounded. Maybe try mk2 GTE bumpers? But TBH the reason stuff like this doesnt get done is a, it looks ****e and b, the work involved is too much for not alot of gain.

Just my opinion. Which BTW are like ar5eholes...everyone has one. Suck your teeth in and deal with it. :thumb:

about 10 years ago this was a big mod... apparently you needed to cut the top off the astra bumper, cut a chunk out the middle and use the nova top section. oh, and a really good bloke on the plastic welding kit

Would Corsa GSi bumpers not fit easier, still be ghey but might be less work

ant_tay
12-08-09, 12:03 AM
probably would yes but i got me heart set on astra ones now

Rysee
12-08-09, 12:06 AM
Do a Astra suspension swap too cause that's another good bit off the MK3 Astra that wont really fit on a nova but it really really needs

12-08-09, 12:15 AM

lol. Butchering disAstra GSi bumper is a crime on it's own IMO. There's many a mk3 TD beater that would put it to better use!

Not everyone on here just likes Speedlines and GSi kits too mate. The reason for the standard look is because Novas are getting thin on the ground now and IMO the thing to do when cars become rare is to return them to higher spec factory look (or close to it)

Fitting mk3 Astra bumpers is the same as modernising your Nova IMO, which I am against for the most part. Most others feel the same, hence a lot mk2 - mk1 conversions but back in the day it was the other way around, in an attempt to make the car look newer.

As said, if you want to do it then do it. Don't cry like a faggot because we haven't kissed your ****. People on here know what they are talking about. Getting them t fit is one thing. Looking like they belong is totally different.

main problem is matey astra bumpers are rounded were as the nova's are more flat and boxy, smooth gsi bumpers look the nuts and different

ant_tay
12-08-09, 03:42 PM
dont get me wrong one of my novas is a genuine gsi and the other is a gte which looks like a gsi so i am going to TRY it i never siad i was going to keep it and where is the flat boxy bits on a gsi bumper i started this just to see if some one could do a photoshop for me not to ask for anyones opinions or approval on it if you dont like it thats up to you but im going to do it anyway because i think i will like it im still going to keep the nova gsi bumpers to put back on it if i dont but who knows if i pull it off properly i may change some of you minds on it(would be nice if i do) its only the corners of the astra bumper that are more round which wont be when im finished

anyway thanks for all your opinions and input i look forward to hopefully changing some of your minds

Thanks Anthony

P.S. my dummy is now safely duck taped in my mouth :thumb:
