View Full Version : Are Nova and Corsa front hub carriers the same?

I am current modifying hubs to take 22 spine outer cvs. I am machining down the hub to take standard bearings. I have had nova and corsa hub carriers and I do not know which ones I have?

So thats why I am asking if they are inter-changable?

I ran a corsa Hub on my nova, I know corsa shafts dont work ;)

But the hubs will.

They are almost identical - when I swapped a Nova one for a corsa hub, I had to space the outer CV, as it would lock against the bearing - Couldnt understand why though... (that was with big block outers though)

this has happened to me i tryied spacing the flange out by a few mm,it doesnt lock up but now the brakes are not going on cause the disc is sitting out to far.

I have this to, i use abs cvs, fixing the prob.

Yes theyre the same.

Bottom balljoints on a corsa are differant though, but this wont affect you.

Thats helpful

Have you any pics of said hubs, machined and not?

No they are not the same. On late corsa's (the ones with different ball joints) the mounting point for the ball joint is in a different position.

Yeah Benn, that'd be great. Trying to get an idea of how much is to be removed.

This is the size you want the big block hub to be machined too to fit a Nova bearing.

All machined. Remember you want a nice radius at the end where the hub touching the bearing. As the cheap ones don't have it and that is where they will wear out and brake.

Benn, its just the cyllindrical part thats machined or does part of the base need to be lathed a bit as well?

Mines been machined there, now i'm not sure why. I don't think it needs it. So just machine the cylindrical part.

Just looking for pics to be sure. Going by the pics its just been done to clean it up.

Try a abs ringed cv. The end on the cv join is different. I use these as i had the prob it was hitting the bearing/knackle too.
